It is also log booked with the Classic Clubmans registration, no.43. This car was originally purchased, as was common at the time, in component form from Arthur Mallock in late 1969, and is thought to be first customer Mk.8B. The original owner kept the car until 1995 (and is still in contact). Since then it has had only two owners. Ready to race, fitted with a powerful top spec Ford 1300 Crossflow engine (145bhp at 8500rpm) and TransX Rocket 3-rail gearbox . • Quick release steering wheel Wheels are 8” and 10” Revolutions in superb condition, currently fitted with F3 Avon slicks, and an excellent set of the latest Dunlop Clubmans slicks are also included in the sale. Also included is a second set of perfect Revolutions fitted with the latest Avon wet tyres. The car was last raced at the Mallock 50th Anniversary meeting at Silverstone in August 2008, and is on the button and ready to go. 1930's American-Austin Midget Race CarThis yellow 1930's American-Austin is an all-original vintage open midget race car ready to be driven or shown.
It was built in Los Angeles during WW II and has a 1946 South Dakota title. It was raced and driven on the street in Los Angeles, then sold and driven to South Dakota. The fenders and rear bumper were added when it was made street-legal. The modified drive train is early 1930's American-Austin. The 46 CID L-head 4 cylinder motor and 3 speed manual transmission are all there.The car runs and drives great and is fairly fast.
