AUTOSUD

This unique and attractive Formula Junior is now for sale Autosud racing cars were designed and built in Naples in the late 1950s. Although apparently typical of an Italian front-engined Formula Junior of its day, the unique Autosud drive train comprises an inverted Fiat 600 gearbox and transaxle at the rear of the car, thus providing improved weight distribution and independent rear suspension.

The car has an HTP and is for sale with a new/rebuilt engine, clutch, gearbox, starter- motor, brakes (including new one-off cast rear drums), new tyres and wired in transponder. It has been maintained to a very high standard and, with its charismatic period looks, is always a popular and welcome addition to the paddock at any race meeting.

Also included are the Brian James trailer and specially made towing cover, as well as a huge quantity of spares including 3 spare wire wheels and tyres, 4 disc wheels and hubs, 2 engine blocks, valve gear, pistons, gaskets, misc gearbox, ignition and brake parts, gauges and various original parts, special 8 port cyl. head and manifolds, standard new unused cyl head, various exhausts and silencers, sundry docs, magazine articles etc etc and the domain names autosud.co.uk and autosud.eu

1962 Lotus 22 Formula Junior.

The car has current FIA papers and a continuous known history in Finland from 1963. It is a highly original and genuine 22 with plenty of historic documentation and where new parts have been installed, the original parts come with the car. The present engine is a 1.034 cc 109E with approx 100hp. The original engine block, head and camshaft are included. The engine seems to be a special Holbay modified 109E with five camshaft bearings. The gearbox is a 4-speed Hewland Mk8 with the original differential and side plates. The body is original except for the reproduction rear cover but the original (modified at one point) comes with the car. The price for the car and parts is 66.000 euros

No.FJ1011  LOLA MK5

Lola Formula Junior Chassis No BRJ 45

This chassis is one of 2 prepared as a "works" car for the 62 season driven by Hine and Prior as the Lola Equipe Team. Later in 62, Midland Racing Partnership took over the running of the team and used Fenning and John Hine starting at Goodwood on August18, 1962. BRJ 45 was retained for the 63 season as a 3rd chassis/backup and was routinely driven by David Hobbs. It incorporates the following unique characteristics:

· Lola Mk-4 rear suspension
· Lola Mk-4 front and rear brakes
· Stiffened chassis due to flex of original design

David Hitches purchased the car from the factory January 1963. The car was shipped to America and has been in the hands of the present owner since 1984 It won the US Monoposto Racing Grand Championship in 1991.

This car was completely restored 2 years ago and has not been raced since. Radiator was rebuilt to 4 rows 10 years ago to aid in cooling. Gas tank is fitted with Fuel-Safe bladder, seat was covered in black leather

It is available less engine, but includes adapter plate, exhaust, & Hewland etc.
This chassis is the only fully documented Lola Mk 5 in the world. There are at least 5 Lola MK 5A's out there that are reputed to be the car that won Monaco in 63.
This one did not, but it was was one of 2 Lolas David Hitches owned in 64 and one of 2 "works" cars in 62 before Lola closed out that team with full documentation.
