Elden Mk 11 History
The car came to Australia from the Elden factory in London in the mid 1990’s as a basket case, apparently it had been stored in a container in their yard for many years. The car was rebuilt in the late 1990’s by Todd Hill and Bob Jeapes and fitted with a turbocharged Nissan FJ20 engine and the transaxle is Renault. New bodywork was also built and fitted to the car too. Peter Hampsheir, the chief designer and part owner of Elden, has identified the chassis as the 1974 stillborn Mk 11 Group C car and he has provided several engineering drawings and period photographs of the car from his archives. Currently the car runs under a CAMS 2A sports car log book, however it is eligible for an HTP / historic log book. There is an extensive range of parts that will be included with the sale including a full set of body moulds, a set of wet weather tyres and rims, a three transaxles plus various other bits and pieces.
