ENSIGN F3
Ex- Steve Thomson Contac 400 car. Chassis number 71-3-1
Steve Thompson at Brands Hatch 1971
Car number 2 which was the first production car and was raced by Steve Thomson in 1971. It was 4th at Monaco in 1971 and went on to win at Montlhery the following day so would therefore be eligible to race at Monaco again. The car passed to Ken Mackintosh in 1972 and then to Roelof Wunderink who campaigned in both in the UK and in Europe. It eventually found its way to Marc Hugi, Swiss Hillclimb Champion, but it is not known if he used the car at all. It was then imported back into the UK by Hewland gearbox specialist Cavan Riley and, following a lengthy restoration, is now offered for sale.
Price: £37,500.00 including spare nose section, wets and mould for engine cover as used on later cars. Download word doc for pics Click Here to Download (More photos and history available on request.)

Chevron B20 F3
The only F3 version of the B20 that Chevron Built.
|
Chevron B20 F3
Chassis number B20-72-1
One of only nine B20’s built by Chevron; This was the works car for Chris Skeaping who raced it in F3 events in England and Europe. Chris’s best result was 3rd at Silverstone, 14 May 1972.
In 1975 it was sold by Chevron Cars to Alex Lowe and went on to win the Formula 4 & Monoposto championships in 1977 and 1980 respectively. Alex then sold the car back to Chevron.
In 1994 it was totally restored by Roger Andreason at Chevron Cars for Nick Crossley. Nick spared no expense on his cars so used all the right bits on this one. It was then used by Nick in HSCC F3 races, winning the Classic F3 Championship in 1995.
When the present owner bought it the car had been standing for a number of years so it was subjected to a light restoration and returned to its original livery as when Chris Skeaping ran it.
It has been maintained by Martin Stretton Racing so it has wanted for nothing although it will need new tyres and belts and the extinguisher will need recertification as it hasn’t been raced since Oulton Park in August 2014.
The Twin Cam engine was rebuilt by Colin Holt in April 2013 and since then it’s done 5 races, a total of 584 miles, verified by Martin Stretton’s records.
So basically, apart from the tyres, belts and extinguisher and the obvious change of fluids, it is pretty much ready to race. It will also come with a set of wets, a spare nose section, rear wing, 2 rear uprights, 4 front wishbones and various other suspension bits.
The car was raced at Monaco in 2010 so would be eligible should they run a suitable class in the future.
Can run in Classic F3, Classic Racing Cars, Derek Bell and Historic F2.
Sensible Offers considered.
